Process, The / Rentokiller - Split 7 OSK 001
The Process and Rentokiller seem to have two things in common, they are both from Sweden and they are totally unknown for my part. The Process is the band that has the honour to open the split. I quite enjoyed listening to them actually, both songs have a good vibe, not unlike The Hope Conspiracy and are quite intense. Their music reminds me of Refused and Snapcase at times as well. They could grow to see bigger things if they keep on evolving from here.
The second part is all downhill from here, Rentokiller has two songs as well, but they both really differ. The Erotic Principle has this melodic punklike edge, but when it looks like it’s building up to the climax, the song implodes to make room for an accordion intermezzo and a doom metal part. Don’t know why because it doesn’t lift the song up, on the contrary. Not that it’s not done properly, it just doesn’t fit. Rentokiller’s second song has a totally different sound, that counts for the production and the style. It sounds like an angry and raw Most Precious Blood played in a basement, a shame that it’s only a minute long.
The Process would get 3 stars out of their effort, while I would only give 2 stars to Rentokiller, I feel like they still have a long road ahead. That’s an average of 2,5. Nothing really remember worthy.
