Love Songs - Another Guaranteed 40 Minute Music Set LP LDR 1208
LOVE SONGS fourth full-length (and first on the grandest of all formats, the LP) is accurately entitled ANOTHER GUARANTEED 40 MINUTE MUSIC SET.
It sports 15 songs – some brand NEW, some re-recorded classics, some previously released on other, inferior formats such as cassette tapes and the obsolete compact disc. It is exclusively available on swirly mixed colored vinyl - the 12-inch kind that will not fit into the disk drive on your computer.
For those of you unfamiliar, LOVE SONGS is a 4-piece from the Bay Area and features:
-CRAIGUMS – guitar/vox. You might know him from YOUR MOTHER, ALL YOU CAN EAT, WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?, COLBOM, THIS IS MY FIST, or as the 2008 WORLD AIR GUITAR CHAMPION.
--JACKSON – guitar/vox. You might know him from THIS IS MY FIST, MASTER VOLUME, or his crotch which is featured on the cover of this record.
---BRADLEY – drums/no vox. He was also in YOUR MOTHER and rarely lets a measure go by without throwing in a drumfill. While reared on death metal and Weird Al, exclusively, Bradley is probably best known for being vegan and fat.
----SETH STRONG – bass/some vox. Seth also is in THIS IS MY FIST but now lives in Chicago and plays bass for DAYS OFF. He was thusly replaced by a guy named either Brian or John. You might have seen Seth in a bikini briefs ad campaign on myspace.
If you are a jaded, sarcastic, grumpy, old fuck, kinda OFF WITH YOUR HEADS fist-pumping, tough guy, or spiky belted punk rocker, then this record is not for you. While SHIRTS-OFF PARTY PUNK makes its comeback at each passing these boys never stopped with their PANTS-OFF tom-foolery. If you are like fun sometimes slightly wacky stuff and music and Weird Al and old metal you have found heaven. This is all funny, sweet, hyper-fueled punk-rockage. The lyrics are sappy love songs about girls, but you can’t tell. Alot of the songs vary in style from super fast punk, to great DESCENDENTSY pop punk songs, to who knows what. There is also some bossanova riffage thrown in too and much like the band FUN PEOPLE they pull it off all these styles without missing a beat.
