Just Die! - A Momentary Lapse In Positive Thinking CD SAR 009 CD
This is easily the best thing JUST DIE! has done to date. Their 2009 7" "Garages and Basements" was truly a stellar release but this record is seething with anger and is fast as fuck. While most of the Self Aware releases, as of late, have been indie or more pop in nature this release brings it back to what Self Aware was built on a couple years ago with bands such Lowbrow, Meth Mountain and the first JD! 7".
I hear early Sick of It All back in the "Clobberin' Time" days and a whole lot of mid 90s hardcore/punk influence. I can in-vision this fitting in well with the Revelation Records catalog in that time without any of the macho tendencies of the time. Basically if you mixed early Sick of It All, Some late 80s Dischord bands, the speed of Bad Brains with Kid Dynamite or Paint It Black then you would maybe get something that sounds a bit like Just Die!
